A Look into Kiera’s Office

So when my husband and I moved this past May, we downsized to a smaller apartment, which meant I lost my office. I was not too excited about it but was I got started on the actual downsizing part, it ended up being a blessing in disguise!

I had a huge desk at my old place but I wasn’t really even using the whole desk. It was a huge MESS. And my whole office there was kind of depressing to me because it was in a dull room with no natural light. I have loved my new space! I got rid of my huge desk (there was no way it was fitting in the new place) and got this tiny desk that really only holds my computer, keyboard, mouse and a drink. But I love not feeling cluttered anymore! I wasn’t excited about being in the living room but I quickly changed my mind once I realized how much beautiful natural light there is!! It makes my heart so happy! Plus, if I am working into the night and my husband is playing video games in the living room, it is kind of like we are hanging out… That’s counts, right?? haha.

Some of the few “decorations” I have: Our marriage license has been hanging on our fridge for the past two years and I always hated it. I wanted it to be some place where it felt more special! So we finally framed it and I hung it up right above my computer. It reminds me why I do what I do 🙂 I added in a picture from our wedding and a “Kiera & Timothy” sign that my friend made to complete the little wall. And then really the only other “decorations” I have is my coaster which my sister made with an image from my wedding and my mouse pad which my best friend got me. I love pigs haha! And then next to my desk I have all the props I use for my part time job in the mornings: VIP Kid. I teach English online to kids in China and it is so much fun! Oh and of course my dog, Trevor! He is always hanging around, whether he is laying on my feet under the chair, or sunbathing in his bed in front of the sliding glass door. I call him my little co-worker 🙂

I have really enjoyed my tiny little “office.” It brings me joy and I think it is so important to love where you work, even when that place is home!
