Allen Farmhaus | Vendor Spotlight

It’s no secret that we love photographing any type of shoot at The Allen Farmhaus. You can see our bridal shoot there, as well as an engagement shoot. But we always say that because it’s stunning, unique, and everything is thoughtfully placed. What you might not know, is that we are also in love with the owners.

World, meet Cassie and Maitlyn!

Two of the sweetest, most genuine women you will ever meet. They love their couples, and would do anything for them. Also, they always love to have a good time. Who can beat that?!

We asked the girls to fill out a couple of questions, so you could all get to know them a little better. This helps give some insight into their daily lives, how their business works and their personalities!

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Cassie: Haha, great question! Honestly, I was never sure. I just knew what I did not want to do haha. I guess I figured I would narrow it down that way, like working backwards. One thing I was sure of though, was that I knew I wanted to love what I do and enjoy who I was working with.

What made you want to start your business?

Maitlyn: My parents always encouraged me to start my own business. As successful entrepreneurs, they were able to attend every practice, game, and school event which meant the world to me. They were also able to provide my sister and I an amazing, blessed life that I would also love to provide for my future family someday!

Cassie: Growing up with both of my parents as entrepreneurs, I think it was always in my blood to eventually own my own business haha. When my dad was 23, he opened up Greg’s Automotive and it has been going strong ever since. The year my sister and I were born, my mom opened Kraft Mobiletel. My sister and I grew up in the back of both of those stores, running from one side of the office to the other, asking my dad for the key to the soda machine so we could get our treat for the day, racing to see who could assemble and put a phone on charge the fastest, answering phones and taking messages, and the list goes on and on. My sister and I loved our childhood and I always thought it would be amazing to be able to give the same thing to my future kids. I want them to be involved in something and to see how hard work and loving what you do, combines to create something magical.

What’s your favorite part about working in the wedding industry?

Maitlyn: My favorite part about the wedding industry is definitely the people. The vendors, brides and their families make you feel like family!

Where do you see your business in five years?

Cassie: Five years down the road, I am hoping that we are a stable of New Braunfels and that people know us as a place where no matter the occasion, they always have a wonderful time. We want others to feel as happy at the farmhaus as we do.

Maitlyn: I see our “Farmhaus Family” growing, meaning we have had many more beautiful weddings and had the pleasure of meeting more amazing families.

What’s your favorite part about running a business?

Maitlyn: I love being able to work on my own time and spend time with my family.

Cassie: Honestly, I think it would have to be the feeling of others loving the farmhaus as much as we do. To have worked so hard on it with my sister has been amazing, but when others appreciate the work you have done and love what you have created it is an unparalleled reward. It great to know we are responsible for making their experience one to enjoy and remember and that we are doing that!

What is your least favorite?

Maitlyn: My least favorite part about owning my own business is that there truly is no “off switch.” Since it is my business, I am never really off work and will keep thinking about the business even when I am not technically at work.

Cassie: Paperwork, for sure haha. All the other aspects are ones that I enjoy – especially getting to know our couples and making sure to do everything I can to so they enjoy their wedding planning experience.
