Ahhh it’s that time of year! Fall colors, photos for your Christmas cards to share with family, and beautiful weather to go along with it! I think I may have to make mini sessions a part of my annual routine because working with all these families has me in the best mood!
Normally I don’t photograph families unless they are close friends or, in this case, for an awesome cause. Katie and Clay are working endlessly to adopt their son from Africa and while this process is stressful, and seems like it may never end, they have the most optimist outlook on everything! Adoption is something Tim and I both have a heart for, and hope to one day go through the process ourselves, so when the opportunity came up to offer our services, we were excited to be a part of something so special!
Thankfully, we FINALLY had an actual day of fall weather when it came to these photo shoots and even though I was a little cold in the morning (and by that I mean freezing), I was so grateful for the cool breeze once noon hit! I couldn’t have asked for a better group of families to photograph all day. All the kids were such troopers and smiled throughout their whole session (only needing a few bribes of pancakes!). I kept thinking “I hope Atlas is this well behaved!” but if she has any of her mom’s personality, she’s going to be REALLY awkward in front of the camera. But hopefully, REALLY talented behind the camera 😉
