While I get emotional at every single wedding I shoot, I get especially emotional at the weddings of friends! And that’s exactly what I was on Thursday! Leila and Alex’s Canyonwood Ridge wedding was absolutely perfect. It started and ended with some rain, but the middle was everything it needed to be. These two are married!!!!
I have known Leila for seven years now. Her best friend and maid of honor was my college roommate. The first time I met Leila I noticed that she was kind, funny, and welcoming. And years later when I met her soon-to-be husband, Alex, I noticed the same exact thing. They are a perfect match and everyone was so excited for them to get married!

Their wedding day was perfect. It was a drizzly morning and we thought that might change the plans for ceremony. And even through it all, Leila and Alex only cared that they got married, whether that meant changing the ceremony to inside or their original plan of outside. Thankfully the rain paused for awhile so they could have the wedding they had dreamt of. And geez, it was gorgeous! There wasn’t a dry eye there when Leila walked down the aisle, or when the couple said their written vows. It was so sweet!
Their portraits afterwards were so much fun! These two are so themselves together. Taking pictures of them was a breeze! They laughed, kissed, joked (like when Leila twirled Alex instead of the other way around), gave lizard kisses (it’s a thing I guess!) and honestly just ha d the best time together. We couldn’t get enough of them. But eventually we had to get off to the reception! It was full of amazing dance moves (Leila and her bridesmaids have been dancing together since they were kids), sweet toasts, and delicious food! They ended the night with the sweetest private last dance and then we sent them off to Jamaica with a sparkler exit!
This was the best day! So thankful I could capture it for them. Hope you are enjoying Jamaica, Leila and Alex!
