my philosophy

Is a first look for me and my partner!?

We’ve got a few tips to help you make the decision!

A first look is always a topic of conversation when it comes to making your wedding day timeline. “Should we see each other before the ceremony, or be traditional?!” Well, there are a couple of factors to consider…

1) Get rid of those pesky nerves

Who better to calm your nerves on your wedding day, than your partner?! Seeing your partner before the ceremony not only takes away the nervousness of walking down the aisle in front of 250 people, but it also let’s you give/receive a genuine reaction from them! If your groom is in an intimate setting, he will cry, smile, and give you his true reaction without any distractions!

2) Be Excited Together

Your wedding day is here! If you are like most couples, your ceremony won’t be taking place until the early evening, which means most of your day is spent without your partner. And after the ceremony, you spend most of the time surrounded by 300 guests! A first look gives you the opportunity to take a minute just the two of you, and be excited about the amazing day ahead of you. It is truly such a special moment! Plus, with a first look you get to hug, kiss, do a little spin, and TALK to each other! If the first time you see each other is at the ceremony, you can’t truly enjoy the moment of admiring their attire and seeing them for the first time.

3) More time with those you love!

There are two parts to this:
1- When you do a first look, it allows us to get so many pictures out of the way before the ceremony. Couple portraits, some of the family formals, and everything in between. This means that after the ceremony, you can spend so much more time with your friends and family who traveled to see you!
2- After your first look, you can spend the rest of the time before the ceremony with your partner! Which means more quality time together on your wedding day!

Lastly, if you are worried that you won’t get those good reaction photos of you walking down the aisle, think again! Not only will your first look photos capture them most genuine moment of seeing each other for the first time, you will still get beautiful photos of a joyful reaction as you walk down the aisle. Seeing each other before the ceremony doesn’t take away from the excitement that you’ll be MARRIED in just a few minutes!!
