10 Tips for What to Wear in Photoshoots

What to wear to photoshoot

  1. Be confident! Wear something that makes you feel great, and you will love your photos that much more. If you plan to be sitting in some pictures, make sure you are free to sit and stand as needed and still love the way you look. You are investing your time and money into these engagement photos, and you want to make sure you feel and look like your self!
  2. Keep your location in mind.  Engagement photos can be taken indoors, outdoors, formal, rustic, urban, laid back, etc. It would look strange if you were laying in a field of grass while wearing a ball gown. Make sure to stick to one style of photos! What to wear to photoshoot
  3. Pick one item, and base the other outfits around it. Don’t be afraid to throw in a pattern. If you have a favorite floral dress you love, wear it! Coordinate your fiance to compliment the color scheme you are wearing. What to wear to photoshootWhat to wear to photoshoot
  4. Stay in season. If you are wearing shorts and a sleeveless blouse, but your fiance is dressed for a winter storm, it’s going to cause some confusion. Now, this doesn’t mean you can’t pretend like it’s winter in October. Especially with Texas weather, you never know when it will be cool enough to actually wear your leather jacket. It doesn’t have to be thirty degrees out to take winter photos! Just make sure everyone is on the same page. What to wear to photoshoot
  5. Don’t procrastinate! Make sure you plan ahead of time, try on the outfits all together and make sure everyone is happy with their choices. You’d be surprised at what outfits make amazing photos. What to wear to photoshoot
  6. Go neutral! You can never go wrong with neutrals. So easy and I bet you all have something in your closet already! What to wear to photoshoot
  7. No matching! Don’t go buy all the same outfit and wear them side by side. Talk about clashing!
  8. Think forever. These photos are memories you can look back on for many years to come. Don’t let them be a headache. Be yourself and let that shine through the pictures! Take silly shots and be unique. Engagement pictures are meant to show your personality.
