my philosophy

RV Living

I am a little late announcing our latest/craziest decision, but Tim and I have officially moved into our 25 foot camper. I’ll give you a moment to really let that sink in….

Now, while you all will think we are totally insane, i’m here to tell you this is the best and most fun decision ever. Two months ago my grandparents decided to lend us their camper indefinitely. Tim and I both looked at this as a way to get out of signing leases, paying a ridiculous amount of money every month on rent, and a whole new adventure. We gratefully accepted their offer, said ten million “thank you’s”, and started our remodel process.
My big fear was feeling trapped, and not being comfortable in the camper. This was going to be our new home, and since my office is home based, I was scared I would get stir crazy and be miserable. So, to prevent that from ever happening, we decided to make the inside feel and look home. What I thought was going to be a two, maybe three day project, was actually three weeks. Needless to say, I felt way in over my head. Tim was stuck working over 50 hours a week, which meant most of the interior projects were my job.

Surprisingly enough, I loved it.

I did just about everything but laying the wood floors. That was a project I just wasn’t willing to tackle. Tim took a day off, came in like a pro, and laid the crap out of that flooring.

It was a lot of work, and we still have a bit to do, paint the walls, new curtains, new sinks, trim around the couch and doors, shelf above my desk, and make the outside area well lit and fun! But for now, I wanted to share a couple of before and after’s of all our hard work!

DISCLAIMER: DONT JUDGE OUR WIRES HANGING ABOVE MY DESK.
We are still trying to figure out how to cut the wires without getting shocked/screwing up all the electricity!

This cozy little camper is now our pride and joy, and feels more like home than anywhere else we have ever lived. I am so grateful for a husband that supports these nontraditional ideas, and most of the time, is the one to come up with them! I cannot wait for all the memories that this new home will make for us.

Cheers,
Mikenzie
